The Lacks Cancer Center is dedicated to cutting-edge care. This means that we not only equip our staff with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies, we also provide them with groundbreaking tools that make everyday inpatient care safer and more effective. That’s why we have outfitted our facility with Hill-Rom OnSite™ software enhanced “smart” beds. These beds create a safer environment for our patients by immediately alerting caregivers if patients leave their beds, if side rails are in the down position or if they are in any danger of falling from bed. This OnSite technology also gives us the ability to directly communicate with patients regardless of the caregiver’s physical location. The beds also offer valuable clinical and operational information such as patient weight, therapy length and status. These beds are just one more method we employ to improve communication with patients, increase efficiency as caregivers and give our patients peace of mind.
